What is Asian Handicap?

Nowadays Asian Handicap is a lot useful and nice method to optimize one`s profit in soccer betting and that`s why we are writing this article in order to make things more clear about this betting tool. Some people find it difficult to understand it but actually it`s not that complicated if you see it`s logical side. The Asian Handicap looks a lot like the European one but sometimes it`s more useful and gives you more ways of betting. It is generally know that if one wants to optimize his profit he should learn to use all aspects of betting (finding the highest odds, using the value of the odds, using asian and european odds, etc.) that`s why you should be aware of Asian Hendicap and learn to use it – believe me, it can help you a lot!First of all I should mention that nowaday most of the bookies will give the option to bet through Asian Handicap but some will be limited. A good bookie in fot that is Bet365 which gives you all possible kinds of Asian Hendicap to bet on. I use a lot of Asian Handicaps in my bets mainly because of 2 reasons – 1. Through Asian Hendicap you can get higher odds on the ordinary 1×2 betting; 2. The Asian Hendicap gives you some really interesting mehtods of betting (like void bets). The Asian Hendicap itself is a lot like the European (one team get number of goals advantage) but with the difference is that the Asian Handicap has more variaties to bet on. Let`s look at the following example – the game is between Liverpool and Chelsea, here are the main options for Asian Handicap:
- Liverpool 0.0 –> if Liverpool wins the game, you win the bet; if they draw, your bet is void (you get your money back, same as Draw No Bet); If Liverpool lose, you lose the bet.
- Liverpool -0,5 –> same as home win bet – if Liverpool wins, you win the bet; if they lose or draw, you lose the bet.
- Liverpool -1 –> if Liverpool wins with 2 goals or more, you win the bet; if they win by 1 goal, you get your money back (void); if they lose or draw, you lose your bet.
- Liverpool -1,5 –> if Liverpool wins by 2 goals or more, you win the bet; in all other circumstances, you lose the bet.
- Chelsea 0.0 –> if Chelsea wins the game, you win the bet; if they draw, your bet is void (you get your money back, same as Draw No Bet); if Chelsea lose, you lose your bet.
- Chelsea + 0,5 –> if Chelsea wins or the game ends draw, you win the bet (same as double chance); if Chelsea lose, you lose the bet.
- Chelsea +1 –> if Chelsea wins or the game ends draw, you win the bet; if Chelsea lose by 1 goal, you get your money back (void); if Chelsea lose by 2 or more goals, you lose the bet.
- Chelsea + 1,5 –> if Chelsea lose by 2 or more goals, you lose the bet; in all other circumstances, you win the bet.
These are the main types of Asian Handicap. As you see they are not complicated at all. The other type of Asian Handicap is the combined one. Here`s the example:Liverpool -1, -1.5 (or -1,25)
odds: 2.00
This actually is 2 different bets, combined in one – the one is Liverpool -1, the other one is Liverpool -1,5 but the odds are the same. Let imagine you bet 100 Euro on this very bet. Then it comes out that you have 2 bets – 50 Euro on Liverpool -1 and 50 Euro on Liverpool -1.5.
- if Liverpool wins with 2 or more goals both bets win, this means you win your bet with 100 Euro at the odds of 2.00
- if Liverpool wins only by 1 goal, one of your bets (Liverpool -1,5) loses, this means you lose 50 Euro, and the other one (Liverpool -1) is void, which means you get 50 Euro back.
- if Liverpool lose or the game ends draw, you lose the bet.
The truth here is that using Asian Handicap can help you a lot in your betting by optimizing the profit. Once understood, it starts working for you.
