Maybe this is the worst performance in the league from Werder in quite time now and they won`t play in Europe next season.

But still they have 2 final left to play – one for DFB Pokal and the UEFA Cup final. And this means that still they can bring two nice titles at home. But as the league is concerned – they will just finish in the middle of the table.

On the other side, Werder made pretty good games recently and they are in good form now – 2 wins against Hamburger and one vs Frankfurt (0-5).

And one more factor here – this will be the last game for Diego in Werder at home. This man was the heart of the team and spent quite a long time there and he deserved the love and respect of the fans. In other words, I guess we will see a nice goodbye for him at his last game at home with another good game from Werder. And most probably he will be substituted at some point in other the get the applause of the fans.

For Karlsruhe things are pretty bad now – only a miracle can get them out of the bottom of the table and save them from relegation. And having in mind their form lately – this looks even more impossible. After being hammered from Dortmund (4-0), they lost to Hannover at home after taking the lead with 2-0. And still they are the worst visitors in the league.

There will be some important missing for the home side like Naldo, Rosenberg, Pizarro, Metresacker and Hunt but the guests will have some problems with injuries, especially in the midline.

Probable line-ups

Werder - Wiese – Fritz, Baumann, Prodl, Boenisch – Frings – Niemeyer, Ozil – Diego – Harnik, Almeida

Karlsruhe - Miller – Gorlitz, Langkamp, Franz, Eichner – Aduobe – Stindl, Engelhardt – Freis, Iashvili, Kennedy

The Pick

Werder are in good run now and they have 2 important finals ahead of them. So this game will be like another preparation for the Schaaf`s side and an appropriate goodbye from the fans for Diego. I expect another good game from them and having in mind the poor one from Karlsruhe, only a miracle can save them. Still there are some important injuries, some finals ahead and Karlsruhe still fighting, on paper, to avoid relegation, I prefer to use the asian handicap here.
