Tottenham – Portsmouth
Really interesting game expect us on Sunday as these two teams will fight for the 3 points. Well both teams are not in their best shape but the transfers that happened between them makes the clash really interesting.
If we exclude the cup games, Tottenham hasn`t been in much shape lately in the league. And maybe none of you had imagined that this team will be in the last place at the middle of the season but this is exactly where they are. Harry Redknap is really a good manager (a proof is what he did in Pompey for 2 years) but maybe he just needs some time and good transfer policy. Well now happened that Defoe is part of this policy. It seems like Redknap likes him and he is trying to solve Tottenham scoring problems with him.
Pompey are lacking good shape too finding themselves in 2 point from the relegation zone. I really liked this team when Redknap was still in charge as they did great things but now seems the things have changed. At the moment they are not playing nice and as Dofoe parted their offensive power will suffer. In the last season they were good playing away – sadly, the situation is different now as they got only 2 wins, 5 losses and 7-16 goal difference. It`s always hard to bet on a team that is last in the league. Tottenham as last year will try to achieve UEFA spot through Carling Cup, but they have to focus in the league as their situation is really bad. Actually if they win here they can go up to 13th place!
So Tottenham is motivated for the win here. Having in mind that nobody knows Pompey better than Redknap and the recent transfer of Defoe, I find the home side strong favourites here.
