Most probably the first place will be decided regarding the result from this clash and we all know that the leader has the advantage to skip the playoffs. So you all see how big the stake is here.
If Russia want to finish as leaders in this group, they have to win this game. As for Germany – a draw will be enough for them to secure the first spot. One thing is for sure – both sides are highly motivated to get result here. Hidding is a great manager (and he has proved it) and he has some nice accomplishes with the national team of Russia. Now he wants to see his team on the top of the group and he will use all he has in this game to secure a win against Germany.
Both teams have just dominated in this group and both teams are in great form. But Russia will have the home ground advantage and this will count in this game. In the reveresed fixture, Germany won 2 – 1 and Russia will seek revenge here.
It seems though, that the Germans are having some troubles with the offensive power – Klose, Podolski, Gomez are not performing well in the local league (though this can`t be a 100% factor when speaking for the national teams). And we already saw that Germans can be hold as guests (3 – 3 against Finland).
Russia has 100% record at home in this group but this will be their bigest test. The draw may be the most logical outcome but it seems that the Russians have slight advantage and they can edge this one.
