Today, the NBA matches are being resumed, after the break for the All-Star game, which offer some interesting moments, in thanks of Shaquille O’Neal and LeBron James. But the 58th All-Star game is in the history and we have to concentrate of the final stage in NBA before the Playoffs. For tonight, I chose some matches and I will take them on your attention.
New Orleans Hornets @ Oklahoma City
In this game meets two teams who at a first glance are in a very similar form with 4 wins out of their last 10 but we have to mention that in one of this game, the Hornets’ star Chris Paul receive an injury and left the game (who was subsequently badly lost against Portland 89:97), and he missed next 4 games of the team, and played with light injury in the very next game. But Chris Paul made one very good performance in the All-Star game and finished it with 14 points and 14 assists. Oklahoma started the season very badly, but after that managed to record some good wins for them. Something which I don’t believe to happen tonight as they meet one very good side in the face of New Orleans. Tyson Chandler will miss the game for the visitors, but Chris Paul, David West (who also take part in the All-Star game) and Peja Stojakovic are good enough to beat comfortably Oklahoma. This season there were 2 meetings between these two sides, both of them won by Hornets – 105:80 and 109:97, and I expect another good performance from them in this game.
Pick: New Orleans Hornets (-3.5) @1.90 in bet365.
Oklahoma City 98:100 New Orleans Hornets
Milwaukee Bucks @ Detroit Pistons
The Pistons this season are not this very good playing team and you have to be crazy to bet for them but I think that tonight they have very good chance for one convincing win. The signing of Allen Iverson don’t bring the needed strengthening of the team but he is still one very good player who can decides matches on himself. Detroit are in very bad form with only 3 wins in their last 10 matches, but I hope that the All-Star break will give them the needed rest. Today they have the perfect possibility to record one good home win as they host Milwaukee Bucks who has 3 of their important players injured – Michael Redd (21.2 points per game) who will miss the rest of the season, Andrew Bogut (11.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game) and Luke Ridnour (10.7 points and 5.7 assists per game). So this will be a very hard task for the Bucks and I think that they will not succeed.
Pick: Detroit Pistons (-6.5) @1.90 in bet365.
Detroit Pistons 86:92 Milwaukee Bucks
Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Lakers
Lakers, despite the injury of Andrew Bynum who will be available for the Playoffs, made some very good games as they won all of their 6 games’ East road trip, even they managed to beat Boston Celtics at their home court and to break off the amazing 23 home-winning streak of Cleveland Cavaliers. Lakers lost their last game but this happened against Utah Jazz who play very good in their home ground. So, I expect one good performance tonight by the LA Lakers in front of their fans. Kobe Bryant won the All-Star MVP (along with Shaquille O’Neal) and he will be very motivated to prove why he was chosen for the best in this game. Atlanta this season are one mediocre away team (12-15) and I don’t expect some very good game from them in Staples Center.
Pick: Los Angelese Lakers (-8.5) @1.90 in bet365.
Los Angelese Lakers 96:83 Atlanta Hawks
San Antonio Spurs @ New York Knicks
New York are in a very bad streak with 6 straight losses, 3 of them came at their home court – from Lakers, Cleveland and Boston, with the minimum margin of 5 points (from Cleveland). As we can see, the Knicks don’t play good when they host some good team. And we can clearly say that the Spurs are exactly that kind of team, as they are with 17 wins and only 9 losses in their away games. In the game tonight, New York face some injury problems as Jerome James and Eddy Curry will miss the game for sure, Quentin Richardson is questionable and Chris Duhon and Tim Thomas will return from their injuries and it is not sure whether they will play at their best. So, I expect again one very tough game for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden and I believe that the Spurs will win it covering the spread.
Pick: San Antonio Spurs (-4) @1.90 in bet365.
New York Knicks 112:107 San Antonio Spurs
