NBA 10.04.2009

For tonight I would like to offer you 2 picks, which outcome, in my opinion, is most likely to be in “the right way”.

Atlanta Hawks – Indiana Pacers
Let’s start with the game which will be played in the “Phillips Arena” in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Hawks practically secured the 4th place which they take at the moment and they are waiting for their first opponent in the Playoffs as Miami and Philadelphia are fighting for the 5th spot. But despite this, I think that they will fight hard for the win in every match because after one mini streak of 3 losses they record 2 wins and they will not want to lose their form right before the Playoffs. Also, Atlanta are amongst one of the very solid home teams with 29 wins and 10 losses.
Indiana still have theoretical chances for a Playoff spot but I don’t think that even they believe that this could happen. Right now they are one the 10th place in the Eastern Conference (34-44) and the teams in front of them, Detroit and Charlotte, are respectively 38-40 and 35-43. Which means that Detroit have to lose all of their remaining matches, Charlotte to lose some of them and Indiana have to win all of their games for this to happen. Yeah, maybe amazings happen in the NBA but not in this case. Until now, Indiana are 11-29 in their away matches.
We also have to mention the fact that in the last 9 games between these two teams, the home side is 8-1 ATS.
Pick: Atlanta Hawks (-5.5) at the odds of 1.86 in bet365.
Atlanta Hawks 122:118 Indiana Pacers

Memphis Grizzlies – Phoenix Suns
Phoenix lost even theoretical chances for the Playoffs some matches ago but despite this they are playing some good basketball with 3 wins in last 4 games. There are some rumours that this could be the last season for Shaquille O’Neal in the NBA and if these rumours are true I don’t think that he would want to leave the NBA with some bad games. In the Suns’ squad the only missing is Amare Stoudamire but he is missing for so long time, and his teammates get used to play without him.
Memphis lost their Playoff’s hopes a long time ago, something which is normally due to the “class” of the team. Even, for this match the team will be some more weakened. Chris Mihm and Mike Wilks are long-time injured but 2 of the very important starters, Darko Milicic and Quinton Ross, are questionable for tonight and there is a big chance to not see them in the game.
One interesting fact is that in the last 10 meetings between the two sides, Phoenix won all of them with minimum of 5 points margin.
Pick: Phoenix Suns (-2.5) at the odds of 1.90 in bet365.
Memphis Grizzlies 106:89 Phoenix Suns

Good Luck.
