Los Angeles Lakers – Utah Jazz

This is the last game of the regular season for both teams and despite the dact that Lakers have nothing to play for but the Jazz have, I don’t think that Utah will take something from this game.

Los Angeles Lakers secure themselves the 1st place in the Western Conference some time ago but they fight for the first place in the Association with the Cavaliers till some days ago. One aim that they couldn’t achieve and if they meet Cleveland in the Finals they wouldn’t have a home-court advantage. Something that is very important for the Finals but I don’t think that this troubles them as the Lakers are the only team that managed to win in Cleveland this season. Andrew Bynum is back in the Lakers’ squad after he recovered from his knee injury and undoubtedly the team has much more power with him, and becomes mainly candidate for the NBA Champion (but we don’t know whether LeBron thinks so :) ). For today’s game Lakers’ don’t have any injury problems but I think that some of the starting players will play reduced minutes on the court as they have to be saved for the Playoffs (except Andrew Bynum maybe, who lacks match practice). But if we take a look at the Lakers’ bench we can see players like Lamar Odom, Jordan Farmar, Sasha Vujacic and Luke Walton who are really good players. Also, the Playoffs starts on 18th of April and there is a lot of time for rest. In last 5 home games versus Utah, LA are 4-1 ATS, and they are covered today’s spread in all 5 games.
Utah after one amazing streak with 15 wins of 16 games, lost their form in the most inappropriate moment – right before the Playoffs. In their last 8 games they have only 2 wins and managed to lost one home game against the Golden State Warriors who played with only 7 players, and all of them were bench players. In last 11 matches as whole, the Jazz are 2-9 ATS. The team still has chances to climb up in the Western Conference standings but this could happen only if they win this game and New Orleans Hornets lost their tomorrow’s game against the Spurs. And while one loss for the Hornets looks so possible, I don’t think that in this moment Utah can take something from LA Lakers in Staples Center.

Pick: Los Angeles Lakers (-6.5) @1.90 in bet365.

Good Luck.
