New York Knicks – Utah Jazz

ny-utahTonight, at the legendary arena of Madison Square Garden in NYC, the Knicks are hosting the Jazz in one game which is very probable to be a high-scoring one.

New York are one of the teams who are playing very aggressive and offensive, with no concentration of the defensive part of the game. Something which is absolutely normal, as the team’s head coach is Mike D’ Antoni who is playing a high-offensive style in every team he is coach to. But in a low-class team like the Knicks, this leads to so many conceded points, and the Knicks are currently lying on the 27th place in the NBA with an average of 110.28 points per game till now. And in every single game from the start of the season, their opponents were able to score more than 100 points. Some fact which I rate as highly unlike to be changed tonight. And this is one of the main reasons for the bad start for the Knicks as they have only 1 win in 7 games, and all of the thoughts and the hopes of the team’s fans are headed to the 2010’s Summer when many of the big NBA stars are going out of contract and there is some probability some of them to land in NYC.

Utah did not start the season in some convincing way, as they are with 2 wins and 4 losses, and tonight they have a perfect opportunity to record one more win against the weak team of the New York Knicks. The problems for the Jazz are because of their weak defence, as even the Sacramento Kings were able to score them 104 points in Salt Lake City, when the Kings were playing without their best shooters. And the Jazz are receiving an average of 104 points per game, which put them on the 21st place in the NBA. But Utah showed that they can score too, when they scored 111 points against the tight defence of the San Antonio Spurs, and tonight this task have to be a lot easier against the Knicks. Another plus for one high-scoring game is the good free-throw-shooting of the two teams, as the Knicks are 3rd placed with 81.9% FT, while the Jazz are 4th.

In my opinion we will see one very high scoring game, and I expect the Jazz to be on the winning side of the end of it.
