The Bundesliga came to its end as there is only one more round to be played. No doubts, the season was magnificent as we were spectators to a lot of rotation in the top of the table and lots of action during the season. The best thing is that the title race is not over yet.
Wolfsburg – Werder
Wolfsburg have the best chances to clinch the title this year as Bayern and Stuttgart are 2 points behind them. On paper, there is great possibility if this games ends draw, the Wolves will still get the title due to the better goal difference as they are +7 goals ahead of Bayern. Nevertheless one thing is for sure here – the home side won`t be satisfied with a draw as they will try to clinch a nice victory here. The statements before the game showed that Magath and the players aren`t flying in the clouds and their minds are not blurred. According to them, it is still early for congratulations and such ones will be accepted only after the game. This definitely will be a good factor for the hosts.
The Wolves will try to finish their amazing season with a victory at home (no doubts, they were the sensation this year in the Bundesliga) and celebrate with their fans. And I`m sure that this will be a proper finish for them and a nice reward for the Magath`s work at the club till now. Motivation is more than clear here so we don`t have to discuss it at all.
Wolfsburg have been sensational at home this year with the record of 15 wins, 1 draw and no losses with 46-12 goal difference! The team will go out on the pitch with the best they have as there are no serious injuries in the squad.
As for Werder, the season was pretty weak in the Bundesliga. Now they are gounded in the 10th place with no option to move down or up. They just couldn`t unleash their potential as this year was more than dynamic and here is the result. There only way to save the season was to win the two finals they were competing for – the UEFA Cup and DFB Pokal. Well the first one is now in the history and they are still without a cup.
The only thing to play for now for Werder is the DFB Pokal Final next week as we may expect them to be concentrated for that game.
In the last round they lost pretty badly from Karlsruhe as that game showed what a significant role motivation can play. Well, to some extend, we have a similar situation here – Werder again are looking forward a Cup game and they will face a very motivated team. Well the difference here is that Wolfsburg is much stronger and in incredible form.
There are rumours that Schaaf may leave the team and this maybe is influencing these no-matter games for the team. Per Mertesacker and Jensen are out for the clash.

M`gladbach – Dortmund
There is a big stake for those two teams too. Gladbach are trying to secure they stay in the Bundesliga for the next year and Dormund to get a UEFA spot for the next season.
The situation for Gladbach is pretty interesting though – even if they lose here there is great probability that they will stay out of the relegation zone due to the better goal difference (in case Arminia win their game). Thanks to the 2 wins in a row in the last rounds the host found themselves in this convenient situation. Well I`m not sure if they deserve to stay in the Bundesliga as they were pretty weak this season. We can expect some lowered motivation due to the big loss last round from Leverkusen with 5-0. Gohouri, Rob Friend, Gal Alberman will be missing for the team.
Dortmund, alongside with Stuttgart, are the two teams that made a great run in the second part of the season this year. Now there is one final obstacle – to claim their position and secure their spot in the UEFA Cup for the next year. And for that purpose they will need a win here as Hamburger have equal points with them and will try to get their place. If we exclude the loss from Wolfsburg (wich was logical to great extend), Dortmund are unbeaten in 9 games as they won the last 5 of them to nill scoring 16 goals!
We can say that motivation will be high in both camps but Dortmund is in great shape and a class above their opponents right now.
