Atletico Madrid – Osasuna

Well here are two teams fighting for different things – while Osasuna is trying to get out of the relegation zone, Atletico is trying to steal the 4th place from the out-of-form Villareal.On first glance it may look a clear home win but things are a bit complicated here. Osasuna did a prety good run lately which helped them to climb a bit and now there are only a step away from getting away from the relegation zone. In the last 10 games they achieved 4 wins, 4 draws and only 2 losses (one from Real M.) so they gained valuable points. Morale is nice in the team because of that facts. 

Atletico are team with really nice potential and when they are motivated, they unleash it – like they did against Barcelona and Villareal in their last 2 home games. But they seem to be a little unconvincing lately, especially in their away games.

Probable line-ups

Atletico (4-4-2) - Franco – Perea, Pablo, Ujfalusi, Pernia – Pongolle, Garcia, Assuncao, Simao – Aguero, Forlan

Osasuna (4-2-3-1) - Roberto – Monreal, Josexto, Segio, Azpilicueta – Nekounam, Vadocz – Delporte, Plasil, Juanfran – Pandiani

The Pick

With the facts pointed above it will be hard to fully trust in the home win. And I am thinking that Osasuna will give hard time to Atletico.

But we should point out a few issues. First, Osasuna are having some injury problems and that may affect their game. Second, Villareal – the team is out of form and after the 3 – 0 lost against Almeria, Atletico will have the chance to get really close to the 4th spot and they will be motivated to do it here. And finally, Atletico did some nice results at home (Forlan with great asset to the team) and probably, having in mind the motivation, they will show their potential. I, personally, believe that Atletico can edge this one.
