Atalanta – Roma
Serie A
15:30
One of the most interesting games this weekend in the league. Both teams have a lot to show to the audience. Atalanta showed that they can break strong opponents when playing at home (one like Inter). Nevertheless, sometimes the teams struggles when playing against teams who are in good form (like Juventus and Milan) or when they are not concentrated on the pitch (against Lecce and Bologna). So it is very important how the team will approach to this game. The team can be really strong but sometimes they can be an easy prey for the opponent.
Roma are on fire right now and with the good games they played in 2009 they gained valuable points. Now they are in more respectable position in the table. Concerning is the injury list in the away side but still they have a good and capable squad. De Rossi was uncertan for the game but from the latest information it seems like he will play. Roma are currently occupying 6th place and if they eventually win here they can go up with 1 or 2 spots (depends on the result from Genoa – Fiorentina). Anyway the main point is that this is going to be a huge motivator for them. One thing is for sure – Roma are looking better now and more and more they are becoming the teams we used to know. And I believe that they will fight till the end for that 4th spot (maybe even more).
Injury list
Atalanta - Leonardo Talamonti, Luca Cigarini, Christian Vieri, Costinha
Roma - Alberto Aquilani, Cicinho, Rodrigo Taddei, Jeremy Menez, John Arne Riise, Marco Cassetti, Christian Panucci
Probable line-ups
Atalanta (4-4-1-1) - Consigli - Garics, Capelli, Manfredini, Bellini – Pinto, Guarente, Padoin, Valdes - Doni - Floccari
Roma (4-3-1-2) - Doni - Motta, Mexes, Juan, Tonetto - Perrotta, De Rossi, Brighi - Pizarro - Totti, Baptista
The Pick
A lot depends here on how concentrated the home side will be. We must admit that Roma is on the trot now and they will do their best to get the 3pts here. The long injury list maybe a problem for the away side but still I believe that they will be better compared to their opponent. It`s a risky game so we will approach more carefully.
